Current Situation

While progress has been made on the snowmobile, there are still some important tasks to complete. Specifically, plans are in place to implement a BMS (Battery Management System), ensure waterproofing, and install a mount for the battery charger.

Future Projects

The club is gearing up to embrace an innovative and thrilling new conversion of a side by side ATV. Plans are already underway to secure the vehicle, with the aim of applying the same concept and goals that have proved successful in the past: maximizing efficiency.

Trip

The club had an exciting outing to the Toronto Auto Show, where members had the opportunity to see the latest and greatest in the automotive industry. Inspired by the innovative electric car designs on display, the club is now making plans for a future trip to explore upcoming electric projects from various car brands. This upcoming trip will provide an excellent opportunity for members to gain insight into the latest technological advancements and sustainable transportation initiatives.

Battery Monitoring System(BMS)

A Battery Monitoring System is a technology dedicated to the oversight of the battery pack. The incorporation of a BMS in our snowmobile allows us to indicate charging level, Disperse an even charge to the cells and improve overall charging capabilities.

Along with the BMS we will also be installing a Monitor to communicate the charge levels and tell us the cells with the highest and lowest voltage. With a BMS we will also be able to run various performance tests outlined in the testing program

Testing Program

The next step in our project is to physically test the performance of our conversion, compared to the performance of a stock snowmobile. This will consist of several tests that will be recorded in various ways to easily see the overall improvements or declines in certain areas of the snowmobile.

Tests that will be performed:

- Acceleration Test

- Deceleration Test

- Top Speed Test

- Battery Range

- Recharge Time
